Attending the Vilomah Grief Retreat offers an opportunity to find solace, understanding, and community among fellow bereaved parents. If you feel ready, consider joining to support your healing journey.
The retreat is open exclusively to parents and stepparents who have lost a child. This focus ensures that all attendees share a common experience, fostering a supportive and understanding community.
If you’re seeking a safe space to process your grief, connect with others who understand, and explore healing strategies, a grief retreat may be helpful. Trust your instincts and consider what you need most at this point in your journey.
The retreat is intentionally kept small, with a maximum of 12 participants, including the hosts. This ensures an intimate setting conducive to personal connection and support.
Activities include group discussions, workshops on processing grief and restoring hope, trauma-informed movement sessions (such as yoga and breathwork), memorial ceremonies, and free time for personal reflection or connection with others.
Please submit the Registration Form anyway. If there is a cancellation, we will contact you. If it doesn't work out for you to attend this time, you will have another opportunity in the future. Visit the site often to see other retreats and events being offered.
Yes! However, grief is different for each person and parents are ready to share and receive support at different times. Only you will know when you are ready - but you are always welcome.
Yes! Not only will you benefit from the respite of a Vilomah Grief Retreat, but you could also experience the cathartic effect of offering encouragement to others whose loss is more recent.
The retreat respects all belief systems. While topics such as faith and spirituality may arise, all discussions are approached with inclusivity and respect for individual beliefs.
Michelle and Kristie have worked hard to keep costs as low as possible for the 4 day/3 night retreat. The final EARLY BIRD per-person cost of $1180 or $1525 (King) includes accommodations (including taxes and cleaning fees), all meals, workshop sessions, materials & supplies and guest speakers (when applicable). Be sure to take advantage of the Early-Bird pricing while it lasts!!
Many of our support group members are very generous and we often do have offers to help pay for those who need this experience but are not financially able to afford the costs. If you need financial support, please email Kristie or Michelle at Vilomah2@gmail.com for more information about the availability of a scholarship.
